Summer 2010
___________________________________________________________________
Busy, Busy Summer!
We have had a busy summer showing horses, breeding both dogs and pigs, and visiting family. Since we needed help to keep up, we hired a new office assistant. Doesn't our granddaughter Lily look like she'll be wonderful help? |

Our Loss
We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of our original foundation-stock Russell Terrier, Luna. Too deep for words to express and true to the slogan "there's only one Luna", she was utterly unique and totally unreplaceable. We will miss her forever! |
Transitions
Several of our dogs have been retired from breeding. Hairy, Reba, Snickers, Jill and Crackers are now enjoying individual attention in their new loving homes. We are also pleased to announce that we are planning to breed our two Hunt Terriers, Whiskey and Kahlua, early next year. We are really looking forward to their litter! Check them out at the Boys and Girls pages.

A Remedy For Sue
This lovely bay filly was born on March 28, 2010. Her sire is Mister Smart Remedy and her dam is Tsumani Lena, our wonderful mare who was such a fabulous show horse. We are very excited about the future for this lovely filly. |

We're excited to announce that Dan has graduated from the Police Academy. We are very proud of him!
Pictured left, Dan and his parents pinning on his badge. |
Puppies Galore
We are pleased to announce that we are expecting three litters of puppies towards the end of January and early February. Crackers and Hairy had a new litter of roughcoat puppies on January 21. Reba and Gatsby had a litter on January 30. Winnie (picture below on right) and Gatsby (picture below on left) had their litter on February 4. Check out the remaining female from this bunch.

Winter comes early to Kingdom Come Ranch!
This October storm created a winter wonderland around our place. Fortunately, everyone was tucked in snug as a bug in a rug! Just ask Kingdom Come Pearly Gates, shown below.

Pigs are in the air!
Okay, on the ground then. But they're here! Holly had a Labor Day mini-potbelly pig litter of two males and four females. They've all been sold - a new litter is expected from Noelle and Valentino in January so reserve yours today!

For me? You shouldn't have! The one and only Luna has discovered a wine that is -of course- named after her.
Here, she's examing its contents... |
...and, having imbibed her fair share, feels rather feisty! |

Truly pleased and in love with her namesake vino. |

New arrivals
We're excited to welcome a few new dogs to the scene! Be sure to keep your eye on the Boys and Girls pages to see who is producing the adorable puppies of KCR.
Pictured left, Snickers and Winnie are less than a year old and came from Kladdagh Kennels. The dam of the tan-and-white, Winnie, is from South Africa!

We're also pleased with the two recently arrived litters by our stud dog, Gunnar, and out of Chloe and Jill. These puppies have all been sold... be sure to reserve your puppy from our next litters!

Approaching the dog days of summer...
The goings on at Kingdom Come Ranch as we enjoy the spring weather in Colorado.

Troubled times indeed! Our new office manager, Woody, is hard at work (hey, everyone's downsizing).
Don't forget to check out the new puppies from all our shorty jack pairings. Despite the current economic climate, KCR puppies remain in demand. Reserve or purchase yours today.
Don't forget to send us pictures of you enjoying your KCR pooch. We love to hear how they're doing. |

Christmas joy!
'Tis the season for... PUPPIES! We are expecting a rough coat litter out of Reba by Hairy the week after Christmas. Our puppies go really fast, so make your reservation today!
New dog and pig 'digs'! We are so excited to complete our remodel of the dog and pig facilities. Please check out the pictures and details up on the Services page.
Great expectations! We're expecting piglets from both Noelle and Holly in February 2009, by our handsome pig Valentino. It's not confirmed yet, but keep your eyes out for some Valentine's Day surprises! We have also bred Reba to Hairy for a Christmas litter, so check out the Puppies page for more info. |

Horse showin'... Tsunami Lena is going out with a bang! In her last year of showing before retiring to the broodmare band, this great mare was 3rd in AQHA for 2008, reserve in Novice Non Pro Bridle and 4th in the Limited Open at the Reno NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. Right now she is in the top 5 in the nation NRCHA in both NNPB and Limited Open. Read about her and our two futurity horses on the Horses page.
Dog training... Two of our adult dogs have just finished a comprehensive training program which we are now using as a model for all of our other dogs here at KCR. We are so impressed at how Wylie and Blue have come out of their program. They went to The Canine Psychology Center in Pine, CO for 6 weeks. The trainer’s name is Suzi Schaefers; she has a program much like that of Cesar Millan (The Dog Whisperer) and has in fact trained along with him (they're both pictured below). We're very excited about this addition to our program!

In other news, our beloved Luna is enjoying retirement from breeding and is living the good life as our pet! |

Superior performer! Tsunami Lena has earned over 50 AQHA points in AQHA Working Cowhorse, completing her Superior. She and Pam are also currently leading the RMQHA Amateur Working Cowhorse standings. Way to go!

The puppies are here!
We were so excited to greet the 2008 litter of Hairy and Carlie, born April 13th. This broken-coated/rough-coat litter of two males and two females is gorgeous! Both parents are AKC/FSS registered. Please check out the Puppies page to learn more about Kingdom Come puppies. |

Puppies and Piglets
We have a few smooth-coat litters and 1 rough-coat litter to look forward to later this winter and early spring. The crosses will be Carlie X Hairy, and both Luna and Chloe with Gallagher (pictured right) of Flushing Pheasant Russells. Luna, Chloe, and Gallagher are all UKC and AKC/FSS registered and Gallagher is a son of Quest, the #1 JRT in the nation in 2004.
And yes, you read it right... pigs! Kingdom Come Ranch will soon be home to Noel and Holly (pictured below), 2 new mini pot-bellied pigs that are coming in January. |

We will have a male arriving in the spring to launch our own mini pot-bellied pig line with piglets available in 2009. We are really looking forward to our new piggy friends!
Showin' and stuff...
It has been a busy year for Tsunami Lena! Once again she qualified for both the AQHA and NRCHA World Shows in both Open and Non Pro/Amateur divisions. In 2007, Pam and 'Sue' finished in the Top Five in the CRCA Non Pro Bridle and Novice Non Pro Bridle divisions. Tsunami and Jill Cook recently returned from the 2007 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity in Reno where they were the Limited Open Bridle Reserve Champions!
Be sure to watch for our coming 3 year olds in training for their futurity year in reined cowhorse. The fillies, both by NRCHA leading sire Mister Dual Pep and out of earning and producing mares, are named Quickinic Dual and Misters Miss Remedy. Soon to be started is our home-grown filly, Fever In Golden by Playboys Buck Fever. Next in line is a yearling stud colt, Dig A Lil' Jay J, by Digger's Rest. He's currently hanging out in Wyoming, thinking champion thoughts!

Stephenville...
The National Reined Cow Horse Association's World Show was an exciting event this year. Tsunami Lena was 4th in the Limited Open Bridle with trainer Jill Cook aboard, and Pam piloted this talented mare to a 10th place finish in the finals of the Novice Non Pro Bridle. Watch for Pam and her horse spinning, stopping and circling again in 2007! |
